The processes that govern the transport and diffusion of atmospheric pollutants are numerous and of such complexity that it is not possible to describe them without the use of mathematical models, which turn out to be an indispensable technical tool for environmental management. The biggest problem is linked to understanding the description with a great spatio-temporal detailing of a complex phenomenon such as turbulence atmospheric. Thus, mathematical modeling emerges as a scientific direction that uses Mathematics and scientific computing oriented to the use of advanced mathematical methods, which can be used in solving problems of engineering and multiphysics. In this context, in atmospheric environments, traditional differential equations (integer derivatives) do not adequately describe the problem. of turbulent diffusion, as the usual derivatives are not well defined in the non-differentiable behavior introduced by turbulence, where the fractional calculus has become become a very useful tool for studying anomalous scattering and other processes carriage. Thus, considering this new trend in the use of calculus fractional in several areas of knowledge, this work seeks to present new solutions analysis of the two-dimensional and three-dimensional diffusion-advection equation, of fractional order, in the Caputo sense and also with conformable derivative, applied to dispersion of atmospheric pollutants. In the two-dimensional problem, the solution is obtained by applying the Laplace Decomposition Method (LDM), considering the vertical turbulence dependent on longitudinal distance from source with fractional exponent of the same order of the fractional derivative. For the three-dimensional problem, the solution is obtained by applying the Generalized Integral Transform Technique (GITT), solving the problem transformed by the LDM method, considering lateral and vertical turbulent diffusion dependent on the longitudinal distance from the source, resulting with this combination a new methodology. For both problems, for simplicity, the fractional parameter is taken into account only in the advective term. Fractional solutions are more general than traditional solutions, in the sense that the consideration of the entire order in the parameter fractional yields the traditional solution. In the mathematical aspect, it should be noted that the solutions are simple, easy to implement computationally and converge quickly. Physically, the solutions consider the effect of memory on the diffusion coefficient and the fractional derivative. To evaluate the performance of the models, numerical simulations of the proposed fractional solutions were performed with the traditional solutions using experimental concentration data measured at ground level. The best results were obtained with models that consider derivatives of fractional order.
