ABSTRACT: Despite the limitations of spatial resolution, Electroencephalography (EEG) remains a valuable and current tool for research and diagnosis. Investigations associated with degenerative disorders of the neural system: Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, disorders related to motor response and mainly cognitive processes, are related to the use of EEG. With a temporal resolution of the order of milliseconds, the EEG reading is more e cient when compared with computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. In clinical terms, the signi cance of the application refers to some abnormalities in the reading of the signs, leading to consider a certain degree of subjectivity in the visual examination of the tracing and behavior. Regardless of the disorder to be investigated or the degenerative process, and because the EEG presents a good temporal resolution, the amplitude of the signal becomes very important to identify disorders caused by the electrical activity of the brain. Considering this scenario, this work intends to propose a computational model, based on the rms otation function (mean square root), FDF A(n), to measure the amplitude of the Euctuation between distinct regions of the brain and to interpret in a self -About its cross-correlation. As results, we analyzed two tasks: a rst task performed by motor stimuli and a second task, stimulated by the reading of a text. For motor stimuli, we show that complex time series of the EEG exhibit characteristic Euctuations depending on the channel analyzed. In order to demonstrate the e cacy of the proposed technique, we have examined four distinct channels represented here by F332, F637 (front head region) and P349, F654 (parietal region of the head). We have found that the amplitude of the rms function FDF A is larger for the front channels than for the parietal ones. To better tabulate this information, the di erence between FDF A (on a logarithmic scale) was calculated. For the stimulus generated by the reading (trained brain / untrained brain), 11 bio-electrodes were chosen located in the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital regions of the brain of two people. The di erence between individuals appears for time scales n < 128 (f > 1Hz). I believe that this study can bring contributions from the effects generated by EEG records, additions to existing methodologies, as well as become a catalyst for future studies that demonstrate the dynamics of motor and cognitive responses of humans with complex stimuli.
