ABSTRACT: Continuous monitoring of vital signs, such as heart rate and blood oxygen saturation level is of paramount importance for the patient in situations that involve risk to his health status. The change in the potentially dangerous degree of hypoxia occurs from situations in which oxygen saturation reaches lower levels over a long period, and may progress to more severe cases of desaturation. At The most common causes of hypoxia are ventilation and perfusion abnormalities. The Pulse Oximeter developed in this work has non-invasive characteristics for the continuous monitoring process, associated with low-cost technology, based on Free Hardware so that all interested parties have the freedom to use it and take advantage of it. the benefits of using this technology. The hardware and software were embedded in Arduino platform for presenting both software and free hardware, with an accessible and flexible electronic prototyping. The prototype modeling of the sensor support and LEDs was performed on a 3D printer, Prusa Mendel V2, faithfully reproducing its shape and texture previously modeled. The signals collected and the studies carried out prove the potential of the instrumentation developed within the scope of this work. The developed systems are capable of obtaining biological signals from photoplethysmography through the finger, allowing the determination of heart rate and blood saturation level. oxygen in the blood.pt_BR
