Title: Desenvolvimento de uma superfície de resposta que corresponde ao torque necessário no volante para manter o veículo andando em linha reta e as influências dos fatores entrada no resultado final
Authors: Lima, Diego Morais
Abstract: Several attributes are important to increase the costumer perception of vehicle quality.
Steering pull is one of these factors, which mean consistent pull to one side on a straight
flat road while maintaining a constant speed. Steering pull is related to Camber, Caster,
Toe and other attributes related to tire’s design. These factors are geometric
characteristics defined on project phases influenced by dimensional variation from
manufacture and assembly of body and suspension components and tires.
How to define parts and subassemblies tolerances to optimize wheel alignment
characteristics? What is the dimensional variation impact on the quality results of
directional dynamic of the vehicle? How is the influence of the factor at the final value
of vehicle residual align torque?
One computational model was developed to predict the dimensional variation of every
geometric characteristic based on parts tolerances and evaluate the main contributors to
variation of a common compact vehicle with MacPherson frontal suspension and Twist
Beam rear suspension. The dimensional variation results were added to a dynamic model
developed at MSC.ADAMS, together with tire properties and allowed to define the
important factors, create a polynomial response surface and study how is the behavior of
VRAT influenced by each factor.2011-01-01T00:00:00Z
