Abstract: Bahia is considered one of the main hubs of the wind industry in Brazil,
concentrating, in its structure, the biggest manufacturers of the Brazilian wind sector. At the

Abstract: The use of new renewable energies has been growing consistently
in recent years in the world, which indicates a process of energy transition
global. In this context, the use of technologies that take advantage of heliothermic energy
(concentrated solar thermal – CSP) for large-scale electrical generation is
relatively recent. Compared to the global installed capacities of
wind and solar photovoltaic technologies, the installed capacity of the technologies
heliothermal is still very incipient and reduced, but has been showing
significant growth and is one of the promising energy modalities. Still
there are no large CSP plants in Brazil, but there is a region with potential for
implementation of these projects, called the Solar Belt. In this way,
This work aims to carry out an exploratory study on the current situation of
heliothermal energy in the world, the potential of implantation in Brazil and the
possible benefits, consulting several thematic bibliographic sources. As
results obtained, it was confirmed the existence of potential for implantation of
heliothermic projects and the possibility of them acting in a
complement the plants of other existing and future energy sources.

Abstract: Bahia is today one of the most prominent states in the expansion of the generation of
energy through the winds. With a privileged wind potential, added to a
favorable wind characteristic for the performance of wind turbines, the state
emerges in attracting new ventures. All this potential is distributed
differently by its territory, making each region of the state
present different possibilities for new projects. Among the regions that
attracted projects to this sector, the so-called Territory of Identity
Sertão de São Francisco, in which the municipalities Casa Nova, Sento Sé and Sobradinho
are the most evident. This study seeks to analyze how they are
currently the wind projects contracted in the last competitions for the region and
what is the technical and geographic availability for new wind farms
for this territory. In addition, it seeks to verify which challenges must be
surpassed by the entities involved in the development of the sector in the state. As
results obtained, the Territory of Identity Sertão do São Francisco has 80% of available wind power, an extensive physical area useful for new projects,
in addition to being one of the few regions in the state with the capacity to carry
energy with future plants. It was also perceived the need for the entities
government to work in a micro-regional way, enabling better
taking advantage of the resources that each region of the state offers to the sector.2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
