Abstract: After a period of stagnation in the Brazilian naval industry that lasted
approximately 20 years, the sector has been showing a resumption in investments due to
to the growth of the petroleum activity, mainly, after the discovery of the layer of the
pre-salt and Transpetro's Fleet Modernization and Expansion Program, making the
Brazilian market already holds the fifth largest order book in the world (Dores et al,
2012). These vessels used to serve the pre-salt exploration, known as
maritime support vessels, have different characteristics and technical requirements.
Therefore, an analysis of national technical standards and regulations is necessary
to ensure that the ventilation and air conditioning systems of these
vessels meet the applicable technical and safety requirements, and that they do not
are technologically outdated. In this way, the present work aims to present the
ventilation and air conditioning systems generally used on vessels and their
components, and the requirements of regulatory standards NR-30 and the maritime authority
NORMAM 01 and 02, in addition to ABNT's technical standards for these systems, also evaluating
the divergences that possibly exist of these norms with the classification rules of the
classification societies, and the important role of these entities for vessels

Abstract: The air conditioning of commercial buildings with the use of split system type
equipment and VRV / VRF advances every day on the central systems with ducts.
The ease of acquisition, relative simplicity in installing such equipment, and the
increasingly attractive price, have caused commercial building owners preferred this
solution. Both in new projects or reforms. They also contribute to the use of this
solution to decrease the vertical space, eliminating engine room to house central air,
thereby freeing up more area of the building to gain more in number of floors. By the
user, simplicity in individual temperature control in a given zone of occupation and
the possibility of partial operation of the system makes these also increasingly prefer
this type of system. In addition, the large number of manufacturers and/or importers,
mainly between the four of major manufacturers of plant equipment, bred a "lobby"
active to make use of such equipments. Mainly working end customers such as
architects and developers. In order to assess air quality under the parameters
established by the current Brazilian rules related to the theme in commercial
buildings for public use and climate-controlled with the use of mini-split type
equipment. Data collected were analyzed carried out between the years 2011 and
2012 in a utility company retail environments. Sampling was done by a specialized
company with calibrated and certified equipment. The results showed significant
problems related to indoor air quality. In particular the concentration of CO2 level of
respondents environments. Given this fact he realized the need for interventions in
these facilities so that air quality standards are established.2015-01-01T00:00:00Z
